Frequently asked questions
Sniped It! isn't hearing me. What should I check?
Sniped It! needs two permissions: Microphone and Speech Recognition. The app asks for both before your first session. If you turned either off, open the iPhone Settings app, scroll down to Sniped It!, and switch both on.
Also make sure you speak after the countdown says “Start”, that your iPhone is within 1–2 m (3–6 ft), and that no other app is using the microphone.
A shot was recorded wrong. How do I fix it?
Say “Undo” to remove the last call, then say the correct result. You can say “Undo” several times in a row to step back further.
How does the 4 in 4 game work?
The goal is to hit all four corners — top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right — in as few shots and as little time as possible. Call each corner as you hit it. Hitting a corner you've already hit counts as a miss, and five hole doesn't count in this game. The game ends automatically once all four corners are hit, and you can share your result.
How can I make tracking more reliable?
- Speak loud and clear.
- Avoid loud background noise such as music or a busy rink.
- Keep your iPhone within 1–2 m (3–6 ft) of where you shoot.
- AirPods or a wireless headset with a microphone work well when you're farther away.
- Charge your battery before long sessions.
Do I need an internet connection?
Sniped It! recognizes your voice on your iPhone, so you can track shots without a connection on devices that support on-device speech recognition.
Where is my training history stored?
Your sessions are stored on your iPhone. If you delete the app, its history is deleted too, unless you restore it from an iPhone backup.
Which devices are supported?
Sniped It! is an iPhone app. See the App Store page for the current iOS requirement.
How do I share my results?
Tap the share button on the results screen, or on any session in your history, to send your result to friends and teammates.
